After 3-5 hours after getting tattoo`d
***WASH YOUR HANDS***
•Take the bandage off and throw it away.
•Rinse your arm off with warm water, apply a small amount of non scented liquid soap and lather the whole tattoo gently massaging the skin.
•Rinse all the soap off and gently pat dry the tattoo with a clean paper towel(do not use a bath towel)
•Let the tattoo breathe for 3-5 minutes
•Apply a very thin amount of Aquaphor or Vaseline and wrap it back up with a NEW piece of plastic wrap.
•Repeat this process every 4-6 hours that you’re awake, wash it first thing in the morning, a few times throughout the day and then right before bed. -You don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to wash your tattoo.
•You can shower like normal; you just want to avoid long hot showers. Keep the water exposure to a minimum aside from washing it with soap and water.
•Wash your tattoo last in the shower so you don’t have any other soaps, shampoos or conditioners that could irritate the tattoo.
•After 2 full days of the above aftercare process, you are going to take the plastic wrap off, wash it with soap and water and let it dry out. When it feels tight or it starts to flakes and peel, then you can ad non scented lotion as needed.
•Try not to sweat, avoid exercising and being out in the heat for at least 2 weeks. NO bathtubs, pools, hot tubs, saunas, lakes, the gym etc.
•Continue to wash your tattoo with soap and water through the entire healing process.
***If it scabs for any reason; do not panic. Please send me photos of the areas in question so we can both keep a closer eye on it through the healing process.
***DO NOT PICK AT ANY SCABBING***
It usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks for a tattoo to fully heal. Again, you want to avoid heavy sun exposure, pools, hot tubs, saunas, the gym or anywhere people sweat a lot or water sits. Avoiding these things will greatly help keep your tattoos from fading.
- Once it is fully healed; please send me a follow up photo so I can see if it will need any touch ups.
Please email or text me if you have any questions during the healing process. Please send pics of your concerns if you feel the need to talk to someone one ASAP
***If you’re having any medical emergencies; please consult with your doctor immediately.
